Rajshahi Metropolitan Police have detained 38 drug sellers and users from different area in the city during a 24-hour special anti-narcotics drive on Wednesday.
Additional deputy police commissioner of Rajshahi metropolitan police Golam Ruhul Kuddus on Thursday confirmed the matter.
Among the detainees, 10 from Boalia police station, 3 from Rajpara police station, 4 from Chandrima police station, 5 from Motihar police station, 1 from Katakhali, 3 from Belpukur police station, 1 from Shah Makhdum police station, 3 from Paba police station, 4 from Kashiyadanga police station, 2 from Damkura police station and 2 were arrested by the detective branch of police.
16 were warranted criminals while 12 were arrested with contraband drugs and 10 were arrested on different charges.
A legal action has been taken against the arrestees, said additional deputy police commissioner Ruhul Kuddus.
