37th founding anniv of The New Nation celebrated

The 37th founding anniversary of The New Nation, the oldest national English daily was celebrated at Gouripur upazila in Mymensingh district on Sunday .
On the occasion, a discussion meeting was held at Gouripur Reporters’ Club in the town with Gouripur Upazila New Nation Correspondent Mohammad Raihan Uddin Sarker in the chair.
Journalists, teachers, civil society members, politicians and socio-cultural activists attended the function. Press Club President of Gouripur Md. Iqbal Hossain Jewel, President of Gouripur Reporters Club Mutalib Bin Ayet, Editor and Poet Azam Jahir, former President of Gouripur Reporters Club Md Mujibur Rahman, Journalists Anwer Hossain Shahin, Md. Arif Ahmed, Lutfar Rahman Khukan, Mohasin Mahmud, Saidur Rahman, Riaj Ahmed, Jhinto Devnath and many others attended the function .The function was conducted by Jahirul Huda Liton, General Secretary of Gouripur Reporters Club.
Press Club President of Gouripur Md. Iqbal Hossain Jewel said, as the newspaper has stepped into 38 years yesterday it had become the oldest English daily in the country and it has great tradition.
After the discussion, club members along with other guests cut the cake on the occasion.
