37 JnU students get Duke of Edinburgh’s Award

JnU Correspondent :A total of 37 students of Jagannath University (JnU) received the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award in recognition of their outstanding success in educational activities and for community services, said a university press release on Tuesday.The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Foundation (JnU chapter) conferred 37 students with Bronze Award at the Sigmund Freud Conference Hall of the university.JnU Vice-chancellor Prof Dr Mizanur Rahman was present as the chief guest in the ceremony and handed over the awards to the students.Congratulating the students, the chief guest said, “This award would help to encourage the students to perform in extramural activities and nation building work and lead a disciplined life”.”Programmes like these are extremely important in bringing out the latent talents in youths” said Prof Dr Mizan.Besides, JnU Teachers Association General Secretary Prof Dr Abul Hossain, Awami League backed teachers association ‘Blue Panel’ President Prof Dr Ashraful Alam were present, among others, in the programme.President of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Foundation (JnU chapter) Assistant Prof Md Abu Saleh Sikander presided over while Shariful Islam and Nahreen Jannat, leaders of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Foundation conducted the programme.
