Thirty-seven houses were gutted in a fire that broke out at Muslimnagar Nayabazar in Sadar upazila on Saturday evening.
Sub-inspector of Fatullah Model Police Station Nahid said the fire
that originated from a gas oven at the house of Wahab Ali Sardar at around 7:30pm and soon engulfed the adjacent houses.
On information, two fire-fighting units rushed on the spot and doused the flame after an hour of frantic efforts with help of local people.
Ten people were injured while extinguishing the fire. Most of the residents of the houses were said to be garment workers.
