The Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Shipping Ministry recommended for construction of 3660 units residential flats for the employees of the Chittagong Port Authority.
The Chittagong Port Authority has planned to construct a total of 3660 units of residential flats for its employees, the committee told this at its 39th meeting held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with committee Chairman Major (retd) Rafiqul Islam, Bir Uttam presiding.
The meeting also discussed overall activities and progress of the different steps earlier taken by the ministry attaching priority to the development works of Chittagong Port CPA sources said. Committee members — Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan, Talukder Abdul Khaleque, Mohammad AbduL Hye, M Abdul Latif and Mohammad Anwarul Azim (Anar) attended the meeting.
