As many as 360 bags of rice meant for relief for the haor people capsized in the Surma river as a nor’easter lashed Sadar upazila in Sunamganj early Tuesday.
The boat loaded with the sacks of rice was anchored in the river near a food godown in Mollikpur area.
The government had allocated these rice bags as relief for the flood-affected people of Rangarchar union in the upazila.
