Thirty-six people have been fined by a mobile court for not wearing masks in Saidpur of
Nilphamari district.
The operation was conducted by the Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Ramiz Alam from noon to evening at Bangabandhu Chattar on Monday.
He fined 36 people under sections 188 and 269 of the 1960 Penal Code for not wearing masks. At that time a fine of Tk 7,500 was collected.
Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate, Ramiz Alam instructed to follow the hygiene rules and some are warned for the future.
He also said the second wave of corona virus is ongoing. If people do not wear masks to prevent infection, more stringent measures will be taken, including increasing fines through mobile courts. To this end, he expects the overall cooperation of the people of all levels of Saidpur upazila.
