36 Hajj pilgrims cheated by travel agent in Sylhet

A group of 36 persons failed to start for Saudi Arabia as their travel agent in Sylhet city cheated them.
The agent took the group from Sylhet to Dhaka and kept them at a hotel on the assurance of arranging Hajj flight to Jeddah, but failed. At last, the disappointed group had to go back to Sylhet this morning.
A number of the cheated group alleged, the owner of the New Discovery Travels Giasuddin at the city’s Bharthokhola area took Tk 0.35 million (Tk 3.5 lakh) from each of the 40 pilgrims, of whom one died during the process was going on.
Three did not get the visa while 36 others were informed their visa had been issued. Accordingly, they were taken to Dhaka Saturday for availing flight on the following day.
They were boarded at Silcom hotel in Uttara, but after the move was failed the group had to return back.
