The IWICA 35th National Women’s Chess Championship-2015, sponsored by IWICA Chess School, Dhaka and organised by Bangladesh Chess Federation, began on Thursday at Bangladesh Chess Federation hall-room. Secretary of National Sports Council Ashoke Kumar Biswas inaugurated the round robin league system event as the chief guest while Executive Director of IWICA Chess School WCM Mahmuda Hoque Chowdhury Moly was also present as a special guest.A total of 12 players are taking part in the meet.Those participating in the meet are defending national woman champion WIM Shamima Akter Liza of Bangladesh Navy, WFM Sharmin Sultana Shirin, national women’s runner-up WFM Nazrana Khan Eva of Bangladesh Navy, Tanzina Akter Tani, WIM Rani Hamid, Zhorna Begum of Narayanganj, WFM Zakia Sultana of Narayanganj, Fatema-Tuz-Zohara Sraboni, Samiha Sharmin Shimmi, Afrin Jahan Munia of Barisal, Sumaiya Khondoker of Bangladesh Navy and Zahuratul Zannat Zisha. The 2nd round matches will be held today (Friday) from 3pm at the same venue.
