There is joy in 355 landless and homeless poor families in Banaripara of Barisal. Eid joy is now prevailing in these families who are not able to participate in the upcoming Eid celebrations due to poverty. But getting land and a house as the gift of Prime Minister is like getting the moon in hands.
Tears of joy have been seen in the eyes of many. They wished Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s good health and longevity and expressed their gratitude to her.
On the occasion of Mujib Centenary, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is constructing a two-room semi-finished building with land for 355 homeless families in Banaripara Upazila. With kitchen, there is also potable water and hygienic sanitation. Real land and homeless families are getting pucca houses with this land on the basis of transparency through on-the-spot verification and selection from the applicants. Construction work of Sihangbhag house has already been completed.
Recently, Barisal Deputy Commissioner Jasim Uddin visited a house in Alta village of Sadar union of Haider upazila and expressed satisfaction over the quality of construction work. In this regard, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Ripon Kumar Saha said, half of the families will be able to move to their dream house before the holy Eid-ul-Fitr. In a short time, the dreams of the rest of the families will also come true.
