Benapole Correspondent :Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in two separate drives recovered 3,520 bottles of Indian Phensidyl syrup, 51 kilograms of hemp and 40 pieces of Yaba tablet from Gheba and Putkhali border areas in the district on Wednesday night. Lieutenant Colonel Matiur Rahman, commanding officer of BGB-26 battalion, said on secret information, a team of the border forced launched a drive in the area and challenged a group of smugglers while they were carrying some sacks near pillar no. 22 of Gheba border at night.Sensing danger, the smugglers fled the scene leaving the sacks behind.Later, the BGB team recovered 2,420 bottles of Phensidyl and 51 kgs of hemp contained in the sacks.However, none was arrested in this connection.
