3500 flood victims to get kit boxes in Gaibandha, Bogura

A total of 3500 flood affected families of two districts would get dignity kit boxes from a local non-government organisation Gana Unnayan Kendra (GUK) within few days.
The boxes would be distributed to the flood affected families of Gaibandha and Bogura districts with the financial support of UNFPA (United Nations Population Fund) without delay under Emergency Response for Flood Affected People.
Of them, some 2500 would be disbursed to the flood victims of Gaibandha district and the rest 1000 to the victims of Bogura district, sources said.
On Friday afternoon, the box distribution activity to the flood affected families started in Gaibandha district in a function held on the premises of Dween Mohammad Govt. Primary School of the union under Sadar upazila.
Field officer of UNFPA Dr. Kanis Fatema formally inaugurated the kit boxes to the flood victims of the union as the chief guest while chief executive of GUK Abdus Salam presided over the function.
After getting a kit box Julekha Begum, a lactating mother, expressed her gratefulness to GUK and UNFPA for providing her with the kit box as it would be utilized for carrying and reserving water side by side with keeping other food items including rice properly.

including media men were present on the occasion. Chief executive of GUK told the BSS that 1000 flood hit families of Sonatola upazila under Bogura district would get the kit boxes from the organisation immediately.
