350 DU students get scholarship

A total of 350 financially challenged meritorious students of various departments under the Faculty of Business Studies of Dhaka University (DU) have been awarded scholarship. DU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman distributed the scholarships among the students at a function held on Thursday at the conference room of Business Studies Faculty.
NCC Bank Limited, First Security Islamic Bank Limited and BRAC Bank Limited have donated the money for the scholarship.
Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies of DU Prof Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam presided over the function while Managing Director of First Security Islamic Bank Limited Syed Waseque Md. Ali, Deputy Managing Director of NCC Bank Limited Khondoker Nayeemul Kabir and Deputy Managing Director of BRAC Bank Limited Chowdhury Akhtar Asif addressed it as special guests. Prof Dr Razia Begum of DU Marketing Department and Prof Dr Hasina Sheykh of DU Banking and Insurance Department also addressed the programme. While addressing the programme, VC Akhtaruzzaman urged the affluent people of the society and philanthropists to come forward to help the financially challenged meritorious students.
He stressed the need for making inclusive society to achieve sustainable development goals.
