Thirty-five teachers of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), who had earlier resigned from their posts over ‘misconduct’ of the SUST vice chancellor, revoked the decision on Friday.
The decision was taken after a meeting between the protesting teachers and acting vice chancellor of the university Prof Dr Ilias Uddin on the university campus on Friday morning, said SUST acting proctor Md Emdadul Haque.
The delegation of the protesting teachers included Muktijuddher Chetonay Udbuddho Shikkhok Forum convener Dr Syed Samsul Alam, co-convener Prof Dr Nazia Chowdhury and former general secretary of SUST Teachers Association Md Faruk Uddin.
Earlier on April 6, teachers under the banner of Muktijuddher Chetonay Udbuddho Shikkhok Forum went into a movement protesting the alleged misconduct of SUST vice chancellor Porf Dr Aminul Haque.
As a sequel, 35 of the protesting teachers submitted their resignation letters to the administration later on.
After the meeting with the acting SUST vice chancellor on Friday, the protesting teachers have decided to suspend their movement as the SUST vice chancellor has taken a two-month leave.
The 35 teachers, who had submitted their resignation letters, also decided to withdraw their resignation letters and join their duties again.
