Police, in special drives from Thursday night to this morning, arrested 35 persons including allegedly three drug traders and recovered illegal drugs- 200 bottles of Phensidyl and 1,200 liters of locally made liquor from 10 upazilas of the district.
Sources with the district police said they were picked up from different areas of the district.
Police said, during the drives, Dinajpur Sadar police arrested nine persons including three drug traders with 1,200 liters of locally made liquor, Kaharole three, Hakimpur police three, Biral police one, Phulbari police one, Ghoraghat police three, Khansama police five, Birganj police four, Birampur police four and Parbatipur police arrested two accused.
Meanwhile, Hakimpur Thana police recovered 200 bottles of Phensidyl in an abandoned condition from the upazila during the period.
Several cases, including charges of subversive activities, are pending with different police stations against the arrested persons, the sources added.
The arrested people were sent to jail.
