The country on Friday registered 35 deaths from coronavirus in the last 24 hours according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
“With the new figures, the death toll now stands at 4,351, the death rate being 1.37 percent,” a press release of the DGHS, said it on Wednesday.
In total 2,582 people tested corona positive in the same period, while the total number of infections in the country moved to 3,17,528, the statement said.
The DGHS official said that 15,204 samples were tested in laboratories, while the infection rate is 16.98 percent. The total infection rate now stands at 20.13 percent.
Meanwhile, 2,839 Covid-19 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours.
According to the statement, total number of recoveries stands at 2,11,016 and the recovery rate is 66.46 percent.
It said that 589 more people were put under isolation during the same period.
The DGHS statement said that among the deceased, 23 were males and 12 females, while one was between 31-40 years old, three between 41-50, seven between51-60 and 24 were above 60 years between.
Bangladesh is currently 14th in the list of worst affected countries in the world in terms of the number of cases.
The position is one step ahead of Saudi Arabia and one step behind UK, according to worldometers.info.
