Staff Reporter :A mobile court of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Monday sentenced 35 brokers to different jail terms for harassing common people for a long time at Bangladesh Road Transport Authority’s (BRTA) head office in the city’s Mirpur area. The court gave one month’s imprisonment to eight persons, while 20 days jail to 14 people and 10 days to seven persons. The RAB-4 Executive Magistrate Mohammad Al Amin passed the order. Earlier, a mobile court led by RAB-4, in a drive, detained 35 brokers from the office of BRTA. Executive Magistrate Mohammad Al Amin said that RAB’s detective team identified the brokers after scrutinizing several video footages and other documents for last one month. As per the investigation, the brokers were caught red-handed. “We have started the drive against the brokers who have long been harassing service seekers at the BRTA head office,” he said.
