3,412 more virus cases, 43 new deaths

Bangladesh registered 43 more deaths from coronavirus in the last 24 hours till Tuesday, taking the total fatalities in the country to 1,545.
Of the new deceased, 38 are men while five are women.
Besides, the confirmed cases in the country have surged to 119,198 with the detection of 3,412 more infections during the period.
Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, additional director general of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), came up with the disclosure in the daily online health bulletin in the afternoon.
She said 880 more patients recovered from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, taking the number of people making recovery to 47,635.
Prof Nasima said 16,292 samples were tested in 65 labs across the country during the period. With this, a total of 647,011 samples have so far been tested in the country.
In comparison with the tests conducted in the last 24 hours, the infection rate is 20.94 percent, she said.

The DGHS additional director general also said against the total number of detected cases, the recovery rate is 39.96 while the mortality rate is 1.30 percent.
On Monday, Bangladesh recorded 38 deaths from coronavirus and 3,480 cases.
Meanwhile, the global death toll from coronavirus has reached 474,339 as of Tuesday morning.
Besides, it has so far infected 9,188,362 people around the world, according to Worldometer.
Of the currently infected 3,776,741 patients, 3,718,853 are in mild condition while 57,888 are in serious or critical condition.
So far, 4,937,282 people have made recovery from the disease in different countries.
The US is the worst-hit country with highest cases and deaths in the world at 2,388,153
and 122,610 respectively while Brazil is in the 2nd position with 1,111,348 cases and 51,407 deaths.
