The health authorities have confirmed 3,504 fresh coronavirus cases after testing 15,157 samples in the span of 24 hours until Saturday.
Moreover, 34 people died from the highly contagious disease.
A total of 133,978 in 712,098 coronavirus tests carried out in Bangladesh have turned out to be positive.
Additional Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Prof Dr Nasima Sultana came up with the disclosure at its daily health bulletin on Saturday.
“Thirty people died at hospitals across the country while 12 others died at homes. One patient was declared dead upon arrival at a hospital,” she added.
Since March 18, the government said 1,738 people have died of COVID-19.
Twenty one patients died in Dhaka division, 10 in Chattogram division, three in Khulna division, two in Rajshahi division, three in Sylhet division, one in Rangpur division, two in Barishal division and one more died in Mymensingh division.
In the last 24 hours, 1,409 patients recovered from the diseases, taking the total number of recoveries in the country to 55,727. Against the total number of detected cases, the recovery rate is 40.44 percent.
