34 BD women return from India after 3-yr jail

A total of 34 Bangladeshi women including a school student returned from India after suffering three -year jail terms there. They were handed over to Border Guard Bangladesh men at around 8:30 pm, said Moniruzzaman, officer in-charge, Benapole immigration police.
Talking to newsmen, Moniruzzaman said the returnees were trafficked to India over three years back. ‘Alluring them to provide with better jobs, the women were taken to India and were arrested by the police,’ he added.
He also said the arrestees were sent to a Bombay jail and then taken to different shelter homes. They were then sent back to Bangladesh after initiatives taken by the concerned ministry of Bangladesh.
Human rights organisation Rights Jessore and World Vision took the returnees from the immigrating police and sent them their homes.
