Customs Intelligence officials on secret tip-off seized two covered van alleged loading with contraband goods from Shah Amanat bridge area in city on Thursday morning. After searching the covered vans, customs recovered 33 tons of plastic resins from the van. The approximate market price of these resins is about Tk.2 crores. Sources said these plastic resin imported from abroad with bond advantages for use in respective factories but after releasing from Chittagong port these were being sent to Dhaka aimed at selling in open market with high prices. The detained covered vans are Dhaka Metro TA-116711 and TA -112349. Mentionable that these plastic resins were imported from abroad under Bond advantage with duty free facilities but these resins were being transported to Dhaka for open market selling evading govt revenues.
