At least 33 people were killed and 25-30 others injured as two buses collided head-on at Baraigram upazila in Natore on Monday afternoon. The collision happened around 3:30 pm between a Dhaka-bound bus of Keya Paribahan from Rajshahi and a Pabna-bound bus of Othoi Paribahan from Dhaka at Rejur Intersection on the Dhaka-Rajshahi Highway in Baraigram upazila leaving the 23 dead on the spot. The injured were taken to different hospitals and clinics including Natore Sadar Hospital, Baraigram Upazila Health Complex and Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where the rest of the people died. Confirming the matter, Deputy Commissioner of Natore Mashiur Rahman said the death toll might rise. Vehicular movement on the highway had been suspended for nearly two hours following the accident, causing huge tailbacks on both sides of the road.
