Detectives arrested five drug dealers from Ramna area in the capital on Thursday when they were trafficking 32 kilograms of marijuana by an ambulance.
The arrested were Raju Mia, Murad, Sajib Mia, Sarwar Hossain and Munna.
The Tejgaon Division of Detective Branch of police arrested them at about 5:30pm on Thursday after conducting raids at
Ramna Wireless crossing.
Assistant Police Commissioner Rajon Kumar Saha of the Tejgaon Division of Detective Branch of police, said they had information that several drug dealers were staying at Wireless crossing area bringing marijuana by an ambulance. Later, five persons were arrested conducting raid. At that time, 32kgs of marijuana were seized searching an ambulance there.
The ambulance was also seized as it was being used for trafficking the drugs.
A case was filed against the arrested persons at Ramna Model Police Station.
