The search committee, tasked with making recommendations for appointments of the chief election commissioner and election commissioners, has received 329 names, said Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam today.
“Of the 329 names, 136 names have come from different political parties, including Awami League while the rest from various organisations and personal proposals,” he told reporters at the Supreme Court Judges’ Lounge this afternoon.
The search committee held a meeting with media personalities and eminent citizens on Saturday.
