Traffic division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in their simultaneous drives on the city streets filed 3,240 cases against different modes of vehicles for traffic rules violation till 3pm on Monday on the second consecutive day of Traffic Week. Of the total cases, 288 cases were lodged for driving on wrong sides, 12 for using hydraulic horn, 13 for using hotter and beckon light and 17 others for using tinted glass.
Besides, 832 and 105 cases were filed respectively for having no driving license and fitness of vehicles.
Police filed 1,866 cases against motorcycles and seized 52 others for violation of the traffic rules.
Some 55 cases, including 42 video cases, were registered against drivers of different modes of vehicles on charges of talking over mobile phone while they were driving.
It also dumped 34 vehicles and wrecked 729 others.
