32 BNP men sued in Jessore

Thirty leaders and activists of Bangladesh Nationalist Party were inducted in a case filed by the Kotwali police on charge of ‘attempt to oust the democratic’ government.
Sub inspector Babun Chandra Biswas filed the case with Kotwali police station accusing Syed Saberul Haque Sabu, general secretary, Jessore district unit BNP, Delwar Hossain Khokon, organising secretary, Maruful Islam, former mayor of Jessore Municipality and also president of town unit of the party, Sabera Nazmul Munni, chairman, Jhikargachha upazila council and Noor-un- Nabi, president, Jessore sadar upazila unit.
AKM Azmal Huda, officer in-charge, Kotwali police station confirmed on Friday night.
Several cases were filed with different police station across the district over pronouncement of verdict of Khaleda Zia.
Sayed Saberul Haque Sabu, general secretary, Jessore district unit BNP, earlier, told Newsmen that the police were filing cases against BNP men as part of the government’s reparation of opposition party men. ‘BNP was never involved in any form of anarchy,’ he added.
