Prolong unconscious road crossing has snatched some 318 lives last year under Bogura HighWay region. The road accident brings woe for the relatives of victim people.
On a statistic it is shown that the aged and kids are the worst suffers with the road misshape round the clock, causing severe concern among the parents and guardians.
To aware the commuters, high way police of Bogura region led by superintendent of police (SP) has taken praiseworthy initiative to reduce road accident. They have begun to hoist seminar in educational institution.
They are inviting farmers, rickshaw puller, drivers, students, teacher, and officers of all upazila and district level to be conscious. They urge the noted people to assist the passerby while they were crossing the road for performing their necessary work.
They demand that a total 318 people died over road accident last year since 261 roads accident has been occurred due to unconsciousness of vehicle as well as commuter in the region.
Among them some 65 passerby died while they were crossing the road in the different place of the region. On the affairs, some 203 cases have been lodged with different police station.
Meanwhile, a total 80 volunteer committee has been formed who will assist the passerby while crossing the road. A total 10 members will be belonging to each committee respectively. The process of forming volunteer committee is ongoing across the region with assistance of high way police.
A commuter Faruqe Hossain under Bogura district said, to aware commuters high way police taken praiseworthy initiative to reduce road accident. We should come forward to boost the smooth progress of forming volunteer committee so that the people will get rid of road accident.
An aged passerby Lokman Hossain said the volunteer committee formed with assistance of high way police helps him while he was crossing road. The committee is keeping a humanitarian role to save the life of aged and children, he added.
A total sixteen districts is belong to Bogura region, said SP Md Shahid Ullah. To reduce the terrible road accident, there is no alternative to raise awareness among the passerby, SP added.
