31,340 educational instns to have multimedia classrooms, JS told

The government would set up multimedia classrooms at 31,340 educational institutions and provide laptop, multimedia projector, speaker and internet with modem facilities.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid disclosed this in the Jatiya Sangsad on Thursday while replying to a question from opposition lawmaker Begum Salma Islam.
“The government would also train 5,20,820 teachers for operating multimedia and modern technology based classrooms and expand the use of information technology and multimedia to all educational institutions,” he said.
The minister informed that the government would set up multimedia class rooms and provide training to 5,20,820 teachers under the “ICT for Education in Secondary and Higher Secondary Level Project (Phase-2) and DPP of the project is now awaiting approval by the planning commission.
He said the government has undertaken a project “ICT for Education in Secondary and Higher Secondary Level”, which provided laptop, multimedia projector, speaker, internet with modem connections to 23,331 educational institutions.
Some 24,122 teachers were also provided training on making digital content under the project, he added.
