31 rivers register rises, 43 falls

Water levels in 31 river stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rises and 43 stations recorded falls.
Among the 83 monitored water level stations, seven river stations have been registered steady, a bulletin issued by FFWC said yesterday.
The Brahmaputra and the Meghna are in falling trend while the Jamuna at Archa and the Ganges-Padma are in rising trend.
All the water level monitoring stations are flowing below their respective danger levels.
Significant rainfall was recorded in some stations in different districts during the last 24 hours ending at 6 am yesterday. A total of 60.2 mm were recorded at Teknaf and 53 mm at Noakhali.
