Customs Intelligence in two separate drives recovered 31 gold bars weighing 3.5kg worth around Tk 1.65 crore from the city’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) on Monday. Two passengers have been arrested in this connection.
The arrested passengers have been identified as
Md Ozayer, 45, and Saiful Islam, 39, Customs Official said.
Customs Assistant Director (AD) Umme Nahida Akter confirmed the matter and said that customs officials raided Green Channel area of the airport following a secret information and intercepted Ozayer around 11:15am.
