risingbd.com : BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Tuesday alleged that around 302 leaders and activists of the BNP-led 19-party alliance have either been killed or made disappeared in a month from December 26. “According to the information collected by BNP, 242 people were murdered and 60 others were abducted by joint forces and Awami League cadres,” Khaleda said. The 19-party alliance chief came up with the allegations while addressing a press conference where she presented the list of the victims collected by her party’s central office. She began addressing the press conference at 4.32 pm at the hall room of Hotel Westin at Gulshan in the city. She ended her speech at 5:20pm.
She harshly criticised the government for what she said the worsening human rights situation, extrajudicial killing, oppression and repression by law enforcers and ruling party ‘cadres’.
The BNP chairperson demanded the government immediately stop extrajudicial killing and oppression and repression on opposition leaders and activists and harassing filing ‘false’ cases.
She alleged that the Awami League government has snatched people’s rights of voting by arranging “farcical” poll and forming “illegal” government.
