Dutch-Bangla Bank Ltd (DBBL) on Sunday awarded scholarship to 3,019 HSC 2017 students and studying at Graduation level in different universities, colleges of the country.
DBBL under its social cause programme, has been awarding scholarship to the meritorious students in need of financial aid studying at Higher Secondary and Graduation levels. Under this initiative, a total number of 50,679 students got DBBL scholarship among which 21,187 students of different levels are receiving the scholarship at present.
The award giving ceremony held at Shaheed Surhawardy Indoor Stadium in the city. Chairman of Dutch-Bangla Bank Sayem Ahmed presided the program while Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith was present as the Chief Guest in the program. The Law Minister Anisul Huq and Governor of Bangladesh Bank Fazle Kabir were present as Special Guests to hand over the Scholarship Award Letters among the recipients. Managing Director of DBBL Abul Kashem and Md. Shirin also spoke on the program.
Abul Maal Abdul Muhith said that the scholarship program of DBBL and recalled other philanthropic activities of the Bank. He appreciated the DBBL’s continuous humanitarian and welfare activities and termed this Scholarship program as a unique example of helping the meritorious and needy students of the country. He expected that all the corporate bodies of the country would come forward with such programs for the benefit of the society.
Anisul Huq lauded the role of DBBL in connection with philanthropic activities to stand by the distress people of the country, adding that DBBL is also a pioneer in providing modern banking services to its clients. He congratulated the scholarship awardees and expected that they would dedicate themselves by achieving real education.
The scholarship program of DBBL and hoped that DBBL’s continuous support to the meritorious but needy students will eventually contribute to the human resources development of the country. He also congratulated the students who got DBBL’s Scholarship, Fazle Kabir appreciated.
