A view-exchange meeting, in observance of National Fisheries Week, was held in the conference room of District Fisheries Office in the town Sunday.
Fisheries Department arranged the meeting with local journalists to mark the National Fisheries Week.
Addressing the meeting, District Fisheries Officer Ranjit Kumar Paul said fish production was 21, 812 metric tons in 2010 in the district.
He said after implementing various programmes the production stood at 29, 091 metric tons in 2014.
He said the fisheries department continued its efforts to achieve the fish production target 30, 051 metric tons in 2015 in the district.
