The Anti-Smuggling Squad and Cell of Bangladesh Navy seized 30,000 pieces of contraband yaba tablets worth about Taka 2 crore from the river Karnafuli in Chittagong.
A team of navy found the yaba and 4000 mitres of illegal net on Sunday in an abandoned engine boat, according to an official press release of ISPR.
The seized drugs, net and engine boat were later handed over to the concerned authorities for taking legal measures.
Smugglings have been deceased by many times at outer entrance of the river Karnafuli and its adjoining areas in Chittagong due to regular drives of the squad, the release said.
The drive will be continued in the days to come.
