Mobile phone operator Robi has provided training on the usage of internet to 3,000 students of 18 colleges in South Chittagong.
The students were given hands-on training on how to make use of internet to complement their academic studies, said a press release on Sunday.
Experts from the mobile operator highlighted the use of internet in helping them devise a plan for their future.
Students were also trained on how to open email ID and Facebook accounts so that they could be an active member of the mushrooming digital community of the country.
Specific instruction was also provided on how to access the country’s largest online school named “10 Minute School”. Robi is currently supporting this digital education platform under its Corporate Responsibility Initiative.
Apart from internet, the students were also trained about the basics of ICT. After the training session, a quiz competition was organised in all the colleges.
Winners of the quiz competition were recognized with prize by Robi.
The students expressed their excitement and enthusiasm for being able to take part in training session like this. They felt that such training has opened new horizon for them in making use of internet to prepare for their life in future.
The training event have so far been conducted in Banshkhali Degree College, Banshkhali Coastal Degree College, Chandanaish Amanatchhafa Women College, Barma Degree College, Satkania Zafar Ahmed Degree College, Chunti Women College, Chunti Alim Madrasa, Chakaria Degree College, Ramu Degree College, Eidgah Farid Ahmad Degree College, Ukhia Bangamata Fazilatunnesa Women College.
Teknaf Degree College, Moinuddin Memorial College, Dohazari Science and Technology College, Bandarban Degree College and Moheshkhali Degree College.
