Around 300 tourists have stranded on Saint Martin’s Island due to bad weather.
They have been kept there at safe places until the weather becomes normal, deputy commissioner informed.
Local Union Parishad member Habib Khan said the tourists came to the island on Friday by speedboat and trawlers. But they were stuck on the island as the movement of speedboats and trawlers kept stopped due to the rough weather.
Teknaf upazila executive official Parvez Chowdhury said that the tourists are kept in safe places. He is taking regular updates of the tourists.
St Martin, situated a few miles off the coast in the blue waters of the Bay of Bengal, is considered one of the most beautiful places in Bangladesh.
