About 300 illegal structures were knocked down from both sides of five- kilometres long road under Chuadanga Municipal area by a mobile court to pave the way for smooth traffic operation in the area on Wednesday.
The court, led by executive magistrate of the Chuadanga Ruhul Amin, conducted the demolition drive at Chuadanga municipal area and pulled down 300 illegal structures.
The illegal structures, including shops, business establishments and
residential buildings, were erected on both sides of the road by ccupying lands of Department of Roads and Highways (R & H) of Chuadanga which led to gridlock, the court sources said.
The court is comprised of law enforcement agencies and officials of the R & H.
It further said that the court would continue its operation to clear the road in the area for smooth operation of the traffic.
The R & H has stepped up efforts to clear its lands by demolishing illegal structures, the sources added.
