At least 300 cattle-heads including cows were vaccinated for four major diseases in the district town on Sunday morning. Khagrachhari Hill District Council (KHDC) organised the vaccination programme under Food and Security Project at Belchhari Para under Sadar upazila.
Sadar Upazila Livestock Officer Md Rafiqul Islam Khan said, “Numerous domestic animals, especially cows died from four major diseases including anthrax, Black Quarter, Hemorrhagic Septicaemia, and Foot and Mouth Diseases earlier. “But the death rate has now come down to zero due to the vaccination programme. The farmers would also become financially profitable following the programme,” he added.
Trainer of Food and Security Programme Md Mehedi Hasan, Md Robiul Islam and Veterinary Surgeon Monishankar Roaza were present during the vaccination programme.
