A total of 30 income taxpayers will be honored by the Income Tax Department marking the National Income Tax Day scheduled to be celebrated on Tuesday in Rajshahi zone comprising Rajshahi city and five districts for the fiscal 2014-15.
According to the sources concerned, National Board of Revenue (NBR) has already published a gazette mentioning their names. In two categories of taxpayers like highest and long-term, they will be given the honour. Dabir Uddin, Commissioner of Rajshahi Tax Zone, told BSS that an elaborate programmes has been chalked out to celebrate the day.
A colourful rally will be brought out from the premises of Tax Building and that will be ended into the Rajshahi Medical College auditorium after parading some of the city streets with some elephants and band party.
On the other hand, a week-long Income Tax Fair-2015 will begin for the fifth time in the divisional city on Wednesday next aimed at inspiring the taxpayers in paying income tax.
Dabir Uddin said the fair will be organised at Zafar Imam Tennis Complex. Massive preparation has been adopted to make the fair a total success.
He said the fair would remain open from 10 am to 5 pm every day from September 16 to 22. New taxpayers will able to collect their tax identification numbers (TINs) while the existing TIN holders will be able to submit their income tax returns at the fair.
Income Tax officials would be there to provide advice and suggestion regarding income tax, TIN certificates and assist in filling in Income Tax Return forms.
