Devastating fire guts 30 kutcha dwelling houses , one killed in separate fire incidents in city on Thursday night. The fire incident occurred at Moulavi sahib house colony of Latifer Hat area near Kalamiah Bazar under Bakalia thana in city at about 10 pm.
Senior station officer of Agrabad fire station Md. Ali Akbar told that the fire originated from a kitchen oven of one house which quickly engulfed surrounding areas leave about 30 shanties guetted. After two hours of hectic efforts , fire brigade volunteers brought the fire under control. Loss of the properties yet to be ascertained by the fire service, sources said.
Meanwhile one Abu Zafar of Bridgeghat area of Karnaphuli thana was died of fire incident on Thursday .Officer- In-Charge of Karnaphuli thana Rafiqul Islam told that Abu Zafar is the boatman .
He was roasted during sleeping time in the house of one Jamal, a close friend of the victim.Abu zafar died on the spot by roasting of fire. Police recovered the body and sent to morgue for autopsy, sources said.
