Speakers at a seminar here said more than thirty million people in Bangladesh have now been suffering from different type of kidney diseases due to adulteration in food items.
They also cautioned against excessive use of pesticide, saying that unplanned use of pesticides destroys the fertility of land that hampers production of crops.
Nari Oikya Prishad on Saturday organized the seminar with its president Lutfunnesa Khan in the chair.
Sayed Nurul Alam, chairman of Dhaka University Pharmacy Department Prof. Dr. Sitesh C Bachar, magistrate Rokonuddowla, BSTI’s director Kamal Prashad Das, deputy secretary of commerce ministry Shah Alam, BMA leader Dr Alauddin, among others, spoke at the seminar.
Chief scientific officer of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute Syed Nurul Alam and Dr. Sitesh C Bachar presented separate keynote papers.
