Locals recovered 28 poisonous snakes from a house kitchen in Mirpurupazila in the district of Kushtia recently.
Locals killed the babies, but the snake charmer was able to hold the mother alive.
The snakes were found inside the kitchen of one Nazmul Islam Liton’s house at Sadarpur School Para of Sadarpur Union around 10:30 am on Monday of the upazila.
The owner of the house Nazmul Islam Liton said the child snakes were seen in the house in the morning. Then there were two more snakes in the kitchen.
At least 27 snakes were found by digging the kitchen soil. On information a local snake chamber dug the ground and took the mother’s snake.
Firoz said, locals killed 27 kids of cobra snake before of my arrival.
Later, I caught the mother snake alive. Locals gathered in the house of Nazmul Islam Liton to see the snakes and mother snake together.
UNB from Rajshahi adds: Some 30 baby king cobras were killed and 90 eggs were destroyed again at two villages in Durgapur upazila of Rajshahi district on Monday. One mother cobra was taken alive.
At least 201 king cobras were killed in Rajshahi and Satkhira districts in the last week. Now the King Cobra is setting off panic in the area.
Local sources said to the UNB correspondent that people killed some 30 baby king cobras and destroyed at least 45 eggs in a house at Hoza Anantakandhi Paschimpara village of the upazila.
Rabiul Islam, a local farmer and the owner of the house noticed a mammoth king cobra in his home.
The snake managed to hide himself in a hole after being noticed.
Later he started to scream and called the neighbours. Rabiul Islam with his neighbors started to dig into the hole.
As they did, some 30 baby king cobras started to come out one after another, which they killed by beating them with sticks on the spot.
They also recovered at least 45 eggs of the snake and destroyed those.
Siddique Ali, a local poultry businessman of Belghoria village of the upazila, noticed a king cobra in his home several times.
He called a snake charmer to get hold of the snake.
The snake charmer held a mother king cobra alive and recovered at least 45 eggs from a hole at the house.
Later he destroyed all the eggs.
