At least 30 people were injured in clashes between two groups of villagers in Sylhet on Saturday.
Thirteen of the injured were admitted to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital with bullet injuries, said a doctor at the emergency department of the hospital.
Local sources said that supporters of Bawonpur village under Biswanath upazila adjacent to the Mir Gown village in Sylhet sadar Upazilla on saturday afternoon. Residents of Two villages took part in the clashes and they used firearms and sharp weapons in the two-hour clashes, the sources said.
Being informed, a team of Jalalabad police reached the spot at around 3:00pm and took the situation under control, the police said.
Jalalabad police officer-in-charge Confermed the Metter. no cases were filed with the police station by both groups in this regard he said.
