Shortage of medicines: 30 community clinics of Badarganj limps due to lack of medicines

Sufferings of the poor patients have mounted due to lack of medicines in all the 30 community clinics under Badarganj upazila in the district.
According sources the health service in the community clinics under the upazila have been seriously hampered owing to lack of required medicines for the last two months, as result the poor patients are suffering a lot.
Jesmin Akhter a Community Health Care Provider at Amrul Bari community clinic in the upazila said they did not get any medicine for over two months, forcing suspension of services from the clinics.
Sometimes patients misbehave with them as there is no even life saving drug there, she also said. The supply of those drugs was abundant even few months before, she added.
Aklima Begum, a patient of Khiarpara area alleged that she went to Khiarpara community clinic for treatment few days ago but was not given any kind of medicine from the clinic saying there was no stock of medicines in the clinic, she further alleged.
Admitting the crisis of medicine in the community clinics, Upazila Health and Family Planning officer Moklesur Rahman said they have already sent urgent dispatches to the authority concerned seeking adequate medicines.
