Three youths were caught red handed by police from Akbar Shah Thana area in the port city on Friday night while purchasing a mobile set with fake currency notes. A 19 years old Sani was held by police from No.1 road of CDA area of Akbar shah on Friday night with fake notes .
According to his confession, thana police apprehended two accomplices of Sani named Islam(18) and Shahidul Islam Sagar(21) instantly. Officer in charge of Akbar Shah Thana Sandip Kumar Das told that three youths paid Tk.14 thousand consists of Tk.1000 each note to mobile seller Moinuddin .
Suspecting the fake currency notes, Moinuddin along with other locals caught Sani on the spot and two accomplices fled away quickly. Later police after instant raid in the area apprehended others . The detained confessed their involvement in circulation of fake currency notes since long. A case against the detained lodged with the concerned police station under special power act, sources said.
