Three construction workers died after falling from an under–construction building in the city’s Badda area on Friday.
Two of the deceased were identified as carpenters ‘Shahjahan’, 30, and ‘Sarowar’, 24. They were blood brothers, Mizanur Rahman, their brother-in-law, said.
The other victim, Abdul Kuddus, 32, was their cousin and helper, he said.
Officer-in-Charge of Badda Police Station Kazi Wazed Ali said the deceased were working to construct a multi-storied building at Badda when the site’s lift snapped and tumbled down around noon on Friday.
Of them two died on the spot and another succumbed to his injuries at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital. A worker injured in the crash is also admitted there.
The reasons behind the incident are still unknown.
