Three workers died after inhaling toxic gas while cleaning a septic tank at Karnaphuli Export Processing Zone (KEPZ) area in the city on Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as: Rezaul 30 of Mithapukur upazila in
Rangpur district, Shah Alam, 29 of Mongla upazila in Khulna district and Arif, 32.
Javed Mahmud, officer-in-charge of EPZ Police Station, said three workers entered into an under-construction septic tank of a factory and fell unconscious at noon.
On information, a team of fire service rushed in and recovered the bodies of the three workers, said Mohammad Yahia, assistant director of Fire Service.
