Police arrested three women, including two from the Rohingya community, with 50,000 pieces of Yaba tablets from Najirpara village of the bank of Naf River in Teknaf upazila early Monday.
The arrested were identified as Nasima Akter, 20, wife of Abdur Rahman, a resident of the village, and two Rohingya women – Rofita Begum, 20, and Taslima Begum, 18.
Officer-in-charge of Teknaf Police Station Ataur Rahman said tipped-off, a team of police, led by Jasim Uddin, Ukhiya assistant superintendent of police, conducted a raid at the house of Abdur Rahman in the area and arrested the trio at about 1:30 am.
The law enforcers recovered 50,000 pieces of Yaba tablets searching the house.
They also recovered Tk 1, 89, 000 cash from their possessions.
A case was filed in this connection.
