District Mobile court of Chittgong in their route campaign against the adulteration and spurious foods and drinks, sealed off three filter water producing plants in east Madarbari area under Double mooring thana in city on Tuesday . At the same time these water plants convicted with penalty of Tk.50 thousand each, district administration sources said.
Executive magistrate of the district administration Rakib Hasan led the raid as arranged by BSTI, Chittagong.
Sources said Shah Amanat Drining Water factory was alleged with the lifting of excess deepwell water against their permission of 3 thousand liters water but they were lifting from deep 10 thousand liters and conducting marketing with different brand name . Magistrate on the spot fined Tk.50 thousnad to the factory and 3 months imprisonment to its Manager Ripon Hasan .
On the other hand, two water filtering organisations with brand of Rangdanu and Ocean Blue is conducting marketing their products without the BSTI license but water bottles pasted with sticker of BSTI illegally.
These two plants sealed off instantly and fined Tk.50 thousand each for illegal marketing of the water bottles.
