A mobile court on Wednesday sealed off three water bottling plants in the city’s South Halishahar area for not obtaining BSTI license and violating BSTI rules.
Rakib Hasan, executive magistrate of Chittagong district administration conducted the drive with the help of Chittagong Metropolitan Police and BSTI, Chittagong Division. The mobile court also sentenced Giashuddin Samrat, owner of Messers Saj Enterprise to a three-month imprisonment and sealed off his plant for violating BSTI Ordinance 1985.
The other sealed off two businesses were Dewdrop Drinking Water and Messers Jannat Enterprise. The mobile court also fined Jahed Alam, owner of Messers Jannat Enterprise with Tk 15,000.
